April 2021: I Will Survive

A friend of mine told me that this song had been running through her head during the early days of the pandemic. Though Gloria Gaynor made it a famous anthem, it was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. This song shares the same chord progression with “Fly Me To the Moon”. I wonder if the lyricist was aware of that and was making reference to it with the line “now you’re back from outer space". Here's to hope for survival and to the memory of those we have lost.
